Is the annual personalized care fee covered by my insurance?

The annual personalized care fee is not reimbursable by Medicare nor any third party payer. However, it is designed to promote unsurpassed accessibility, prevention and continuity of care. In the majority of cases, our annual fee is considered a tax-deductible medical expense, but we encourage our patients to consult with a tax specialist.

Will you still take Medicare and commercial insurances?

Yes, we will continue to file claims with Medicare and other insurances. Personalized care practices do not take the place of general health insurance coverage, and we encourage our patients to continue with their insurance plans.

What if I have an emergency?

If you have a life threatening emergency, please call 911 and then call Dr. Guzman-Huesca or Dr. Perez to inform us regarding the situation. For less urgent problems, that do not require paramedic services, please call Dr. Guzman-Huesca or Dr. Perez directly.

What if I become ill while out of town?

Again, if you have an emergency, please call 911, then call us. If your problem is not an emergency, please call Dr. Guzman-Huesca or Dr. Perez to do an evaluation over the phone or through telemedicine. Many minor problems can be addressed in this fashion, and with the exception of a few controlled substances, we can always call a prescription to a pharmacy nearby.

What if I move away from the area?

In that event, we will be happy to reimburse you in a pro-rated fashion and forward your medical records to your new physician.

What happens if my doctor is out of town?

We will provide coverage with another physician offering like-minded services and who will have access to your medical records. Please remember that even when Dr. Guzman-Huesca and Dr. Perez are out of town, they will generally be available by phone, text or email.

What about prescription medicines?

The cost of prescriptions is your responsibility, but in an effort to minimize your costs, we will supply you with treatment samples whenever possible. We will also be attentive to any request for a lower-cost medication of equal efficacy and safety as the one originally prescribed.
